Since the Sichuan Earthquake on 12 May 2008, the 300,000 staff of CCB has been donating for all the victims of the disaster. As of 5pm on 3 June, CCB received 41.94 million yuan from a special fund established by CCB staff. Together with the 20 million yuan donated by CCB and the 69.76 million yuan donated by CCB staff earlier, the bank has raised a total of 131.7 million yaun for the disaster zones.
